Yes! However, there will be aspects of content that you have not covered at GCSE which will be built upon at A Level. You may wish to read a 'Head-start to A Level Biology' guide from the library to help you best prepare.

Your GCSE Biology course has given you an introduction to many topics we will cover in the A Level programme; however, we will study these in much more detail in years 12 and 13. There is a lot of new content to learn during the course, but we will also be building upon your prior knowledge gained from GCSE Biology.

There are a number of required assessed practical tasks that have to be completed during the 2 year course. These test a range of practical skills and knowledge; the understanding gained from these will be assessed in the final exams.

The course covers all aspects of biology from cells and biological molecules up to entire ecosystems. Human biology does feature, along with plant and animal biology, but is not the sole focus.
