Find out more about the Post 16 experience at Walton High

  • Throughout my time at GCSE, I developed a passion for two areas: English Literature and Creative Media. However, at Post 16, this course combination did not fall into a traditional academic or vocational pathway. Thankfully, Walton High helped me by accommodating a mixed pathway. This has also allowed me to, along with a one year EPQ, earn a higher number of UCAS points and develop transferable skills

  • Joining Walton High as a student from another school in Milton Keynes was seamless. I was welcomed by a kind community where I met new friends and a wide network of supportive staff who are all there for me whenever I need it.

  • When English is not your first language, it is extremely hard for you to decide on your future career path. The amazing Post 16 staff at Walton High directed and helped me throughout the whole process. I am very grateful to be part of this amazing school and the exciting journey here at the Brooklands Campus.

  • Post 16 provides a fantastic working environment alongside strong academic support to ensure that their students have the best possible chance to succeed. When applying for Oxford, I was overwhelmed with the amount I had to do: alongside the standard UCAS statement and application, I had to do an Oxford entrance exam, submit a piece of written work, go through the interviews and, of course, meet the offer from my college. Post 16 staff gave me incredible support throughout each of these stages, giving me a brilliant start in my academic journey.
