  • Yes, it is a significant step-up but it also depends on your natural Mathematical ability.

  • No, A Level Maths mainly covers topics that you have not studied at GCSE. However, a large proportion of the topics learnt at GCSE is required to access the A Level topics.

  • Yes, you need the Casio FX-991EX calculator. You do not need a graphical calculator.

  • As a rule of thumb you need to be doing a minimum of 4 hours practice outside of lessons every week.

  • Yes, therefore two of your option blocks will be Maths.

  • One advantage is that Further Maths is highly regarded by the top universities and you have a better chance at studying for a Maths or Engineering degree at one of these universities if you have Further Maths.

  • Yes, it is a very challenging A Level and explores many topics that are not covered in A Level Maths.

  • Yes, the option we offer will mean that you study Mechanics and Statistics in both A Level Maths and A Level Further Maths.
